new methods

statement

over the past several months, i have been thinking of new methods to create art. my lofty goal has been to create expressions of truth that transcend the subjective human experience. for all this time i have been assuming that our senses of hearing, sight, and touch are elements of our subjective biology that impede our ability to have an objective experience. however, these senses have been evolving as instruments of all life forms for hundreds of millions of years. in contrast, the human brain and consciousness are elements of life that are relatively new and unique in this world. thus, after a brief stint that was taking me away from any form of art that has ever been created, i now believe that our simple sensory experience in the world is something to be trusted and embraced.

consequently, i am returning to the world of visual, auditory, and tactile representation in a trusting way, and the focus is on creating expressions of truth that enhance the way people think. it is not the seeing, hearing, or touching that needs to be broken down, changed, enhanced, reborn, reshaped, and evolved. these things exist and serve their purpose with near perfection. it’s the thinking. throughout History, the goal of all life forms has been to stay alive and reproduce. the brain took humans to the top of the food chain, but rather than be great survivalists, i believe the brain is only beginning to attend to the tasks it is intended for. therefore, this show is the representation of my own search for entirely new forms of representational expression that have a single aim: to more clearly reveal truth about ourselves internally and about the world externally. in other words, the expressions themselves will be somewhat new and different, but the real change that will take place will be in the minds of the viewer. stay tuned.

thanks for attending.
