All right. I didn't include college sports for a reason. I am just not that huge of a fan, even though the players play hard at all times and for the love of the game. Of course I root on the Ducks and Beavers, but I've always been more of a Pro Sports guy, plain and simple. There may be a player or two out there in college sports that's a premadonna, but that's about it. I break down college sports the following way:
College Football - Completely screwed up. The BCS system is a disaster. The whole deal is about money and what we have is about 1 out of ever 3 years a non deserving team taking the Championship. I have had a grudge with college football dating back to 1992. I'm a huge Notre Dame fan, yah yah, live with it people, and they beat the bloody hell out of Florida State at home in 1992. Sure, Florida State scored two late desperation TD's to make it a 7-point game, but Notre Dame dominated their asses and won the damn head to head match up, cut and dried. So, the Fighting Irish go on to lose a heart breaker to B.C. at the end of the year, and so both Notre Dame and FSU have 11-1 records. Both dominate their respective bowl games, but FSU gets the Championship. I think there is absolutely no doubt the only reason FSU got the Championship was because everyone wanted long time bridesmaid Bobby Bowden to get his due. He was and is deserving, but not that year. Sorry. I learned early on a basic thing in sports when I was 8 years old in Tee Ball. It can get no simpler. Two teams with the same record play head to head, the team that wins gets the title. How can any idiot see that any differently? I cannot stand the Miami Hurricanes, but the year or two before the same exact scenario happened with Miami getting it over Notre Dame and I was fine with that. The TEAM THAT WINS THE HEAD TO HEAD IS DESERVING!!! Cut and dried people.
